Confessions of a mom

I try to be a good mom. I love my kids more than words, I have kept them alive and free from SERIOUS injury, I try to teach them right from wrong and to be nice to each other. however, I am human and I do things that the perfect mom would never do like:

1. My son brought home a cupcake from a birthday party and I ate
it while he was sleeping.

2. I love diapers.  I would rather change a diaper at my earliest convienance that frantically search for a bathroom at inopportune times. For example I stuck a diaper on Darren on our drive back from Or. and some where between Burns and Ontario he said he had to pee pee.  I told him to just go and I didn't slow down a bit.

3. Dora is an excellent baby sitter.

4. I like when they crawl in bed with me at 1am

5. I like adding rainbow sprinkles to everything just as much as they do.

6.  I take first pick out of the trick or treat bags

7. Benadryl at bedtime is a sanity saver

8. I haven't washed their sheets in almost a month (Yeah, I know)

9. I don't remember the last time I combed their hair.

But somehow we manage to survive, and even thrive. And a little part of me thinks that
everyone is happier because of it.

That is very cute. I am glad you don't have to be perfect to be a good mom. :)

HI Katie,
I read your blog by the way :)
I love this post! #1 made me laugh and I can relate with the rest, except for the sprinkles part. Thanks for not being afraid to be honest. You're awesome.

Katie, I've got news for you, this post reads just like the mother of 3 boys that have 50% of Lance's DNA. The fact that YOU'RE surviving serious injury entitles you to the candy tax and mild sedatives.
