All over the place

 May 30, 2023

Well as expected I made a last minute trip to Provo to bring some supplies the boys had not packed. Well toiletries for Cordon. I did not mind though. Darren came with me and we went out to breakfast and then we walked around campus and drove by his dorm where he will be living. I actually had a good time with him today. Then we had to get him back so he could go to work.

Pretty boring day around the house. Just cleaning and laundry and hanging out around the house. Josh had a baseball game today. Darren is their head coach but he had to work at Straw Market today. Our whole family has been coaching his team. Darren is head coach, Im assistant coach, Lance is first base coach and Cordon in third base coach and Cam helps manage the equipment. Josh usually plays first base or short stop. It is a family affair and I think it is so fun to have everyone involved. Darren brought us home some cinnamon rolls after work.

Down by half

May 29, 2023
Today we got up and packed up Cam and Cord to go down to BYU. Cam will be at FSY with his friends. I think he will have a good time as long as he can get up in the mornings. Cordon is flying solo at ACT camp and I hope that he can make some friends.  We stopped to get lunch at JCW's before we dropped them off. Then we got some Bismark donuts on the way home. It is rough to just be done with school and then have to jump back in to study for the ACT. He did call me late last night to see if I will bring him some toiletries that he forgot. Im such a nice mom.
Lance and the boys have been reinforcing the pasture fence so the cows do not get out. Lots of hard work.

it turned out great

Sunday Darren spoke in church today. He did a great job and even made me tear up a little when he talked about how much he loved his family. He really is a great kid. He procrastinated his talk and we had to pump it out last minute this morning and then before he could practice, Dallin, trevin and another friend came over so they could go watch his talk. I think that made him feel good that they came to see him.
I have a great primary class and today we talked about talents and how we can make them grow. They are the 6 year old class.
I got in a really nice nap after church. There is nothing like a lazy Sunday afternoon nap. And then we went over to the park to play ultimate frisbee for Zanders birthday and then had dinner and cake and ice cream over at the Jensen's.
Now we are just getting packed up to take Cam and Cord to BYU for FSY and ACT camp. They will be gone the whole week. I will miss them. I didn't get any pics today. I need to be better about that.

Not a bad start

 May 27th, 2023

Ok seriously, the best part of summer vacation is sleeping in. It feels so good! All the boys slept in and even Lance slept in today too! (he never does that)

I started out the day by vacuuming out the pool while josh did a little morning swim. I have to say that 65 sixth graders can really do a number on the pool. Now we are just going shock it and let it filter for a good couple days and it should be as good as new.

After that Cam and I took a ride on my motorcycle and went to see Darren at the Straw market. He cooked us up some fries and then had a nice ride home.

Darren's friend Chandler has been planning an epic senior trip for them and a few other guys up to Canada. They leave in a couple weeks and they are taking the minivan. Chandler leaves for his mission to Chile in August.

I finally got josh to cut his hair. I love it. I think it makes him look younger and Im sure thats why I like it.

And finally, the cows came home, (bleh). Lance brought them back to eat down the grass in the pasture. Lets hope they stay put and don't get out.

This one hurts a little

May 24th 2023
I know its not about me but Im going to make it about me this time.
Joshy graduated from elementary today, Wednesday.
I have spent a LOT of time in this School Volunteering with PTA, reading groups, math groups. choir, fundraisers, and working as a substitute teacher. It has always felt like home to me here at Lomond View Elementary and it will be weird to drive by the school and know that my kids are not in there.
I will back to substititute next year but Im sure it will feel a little emptier without Josh and his friends coming in for a treat and saying, "Hi Your Majesty," which is what they all call me.
Josh you had a wonderful 7 years here and you completed all of your State testing with the highest scores. Im so proud of you and hope you keep up the good work next year.

He's done me proud

May 22, 2023
Oh my mama heart! This crazy boy is graduated from high school. I am just so proud of him and can't believe that he is all growed up and will be off on his own in the fall.
He has really prospered and done well. He completed his PLTW pathway and 4 years of seminary while still getting in all his graduation requirements. A very full schedule on top of working 2-3 jobs and doing the swim team and Chinese club.
He will be attending BYU in the fall and is looking forward to getting into as many activities as he can.
I remember asking one of his elementary teachers how I can get him to take his education seriously and not rush through his work just to be done. Well he figured it out and graduated with a 3.99 and 30 ACT. A job well done.

We are not the parents of little kids anymore

May 25th 2023

My JoshPosh, my baby, has successfully completed his elementary career. To celebrate we hosted our 4th and final 6th grade graduation party with the entire 6th grade invited. This year was another success even though the weather was the worst this year than the others. That did not put a damper on things and the kids had the best time even when we had to clear the pool for  lightning.
I am just so glad that we had another successful year without any injuries. That is always my biggest worry is that with so many kids running around and swimming that someone might get hurt. Everyone was safe and sound and happy as they went home.
